Job Description

  • As a Manual QA Intern at ShareChat, you will be on the front lines of ensuring top-tier product quality. Your role goes beyond traditional manual testing; you will be uniquely tasked with testing and validating code generated by AI agents, analyzing outputs for edge cases, security flaws, and overall correctness. You will collaborate closely with developers to translate feature specifications into comprehensive test scenarios.
  • This role offers hands-on experience with the complete software development life cycle (SDLC). You will be identifying defects using modern bug-tracking tools like Jira and Linear, participating in sprint ceremonies, and executing smoke, sanity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Note: ShareChat treats this as a learning phase with a strong intent to hire—exceptional performance will turn this internship into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manual Testing: Design, write, and execute manual test cases across functional, regression, and exploratory testing for both web and mobile applications.
  • AI Validation: Test code outputs generated by AI tools, flagging any ambiguous, incorrect, or unsafe behaviors based on strict acceptance criteria.
  • Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and meticulously track bugs using tools like Jira or Linear, ensuring reliable reproduction and verification of fixes.
  • Release Management: Conduct essential smoke, sanity, and UAT testing on new releases before they are deployed to millions of users.
  • Process Contribution: Maintain updated test plans and checklists, actively participate in sprint standups, and help cultivate a robust culture of quality.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • QA Fundamentals: Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and standard Quality Assurance methodologies.
  • Code Literacy: Ability to read and comprehend code in at least one language (like Python or JavaScript)—writing code is not required, just reviewing it.
  • Tools Familiarity: Comfort using bug-tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Linear, Trello).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, a keen eye for detail, and excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Nice-to-Haves: Exposure to AI/LLM tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor), API testing experience (Postman), and familiarity with version control (Git).
