Job Description

As an Engineer in the Data Streaming team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining real-time data pipelines. Your role involves building scalable streaming applications using Apache Kafka and Spark Streaming to ensure high-speed data ingestion and processing. You will work on integrating diverse data sources into our centralized data platform, ensuring that financial data flows securely and reliably across the bank’s global ecosystem.
You will collaborate with data architects and backend developers to optimize streaming performance and troubleshoot latency issues. A key part of your role will include writing clean, maintainable code in Java, Scala, or Python and managing data schemas. Operating in an Agile environment, you will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health of our production data streams.

Design and implement real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka .
Develop streaming processing applications using Spark Streaming or Flink.
Integrate various data producers and consumers into the streaming ecosystem.
Write efficient and testable code in Java, Scala, or Python .
Optimize data ingestion layers for high throughput and low latency.
Manage schema evolution and data quality across streaming platforms.
Monitor and troubleshoot streaming job failures and performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with global teams to align on data governance and security standards.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
Concepts: Strong understanding of Distributed Systems and Big Data concepts.
Streaming: Foundational knowledge of Apache Kafka or similar messaging queues.
Programming: Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python .
Database: Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL database fundamentals.
Tools: Familiarity with Linux environments and Git version control.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Mindset: Proactive learner with an interest in the FinTech and Banking domain.
