Job Description
As a Software Engineer – Data at DeepIntent, you will be instrumental in establishing a formal data practice for the organization. Your primary focus will be designing, developing, and operating configurable data pipelines that serve high-volume, high-velocity data. You will build the foundation that supports our Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers.
You will work heavily with public clouds (GCP/AWS) and implement rigorous DataOps practices. By building simple, highly reliable data storage, ingestion, and transformation solutions, you will enable the self-service introduction and usage of new data across various business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture: Build, operate, and maintain scalable and robust data architectures that optimize both performance and cost.
Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and operate high-volume data pipelines to support Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers.
DataOps Implementation: Implement and champion DataOps, DevOps, and Agile methodologies across the engineering team.
Ingestion & Transformation: Build simple, highly reliable solutions for data storage, ingestion, and transformation that are easy to deploy and manage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, software engineers, ML engineers, and data analysts.
Continuous Innovation: Establish formal data practices, think big, take chances, and continuously learn new technologies.
Skills & Eligibility
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (CS / IT) or an equivalent degree from a recognized Institute / University.
Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in building and running data pipelines for massive datasets.
Core Languages: High proficiency with SQL, Java, Spring Boot, Python, or JVM-based languages, and Bash scripting.
Cloud & Big Data: Proven experience working with public clouds like GCP/AWS and big data databases like BigQuery or Clickhouse.
Open Source Tech: Experience with Apache open-source projects such as Spark, Druid, Beam, or Airflow.
Methodologies: Strong understanding of software engineering, data architecture, Agile, and DataOps methodologies.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
