Job Description

  • As a Data Engineer Intern at Snowflake, you will design and build data streaming architectures based on complex business and product requirements. You will route, transform, and channel data from multiple inputs using a combination of distributed cloud structures and local databases. Under the mentorship of senior engineers, you will gain deep exposure to AI-Driven Automation , creating tools that leverage machine learning to automate the lifecycle of data pipeline creation and validation patterns seamlessly.
  • Depending on your alignment, you could join teams focusing on Data Platform & Enablement to scale underlying cloud frameworks, or Observability & Operations to build predictive alerting models that capture and fix pipeline issues before they impact the business. Regardless of your focus area, you will maintain data integrity on an automated basis and interact professionally with cross-functional technical leads to translate real stakeholder needs into modern, clean data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize data pipelines using Python and SQL to transform raw datasets.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning techniques to automate data cleansing and validation.
  • Establish robust processes to route structured and unstructured data from multiple inputs.
  • Create self-service declarative automations and technical tools for engineering teams.
  • Implement advanced observability frameworks to monitor pipeline health and predict failures.
  • Collaborate with core data engineering teams to refine and update distributed architectures.
  • Manage version control and coordinate pull requests using GitHub or GitLab .
  • Engage directly with technical leaders to gather and translate analytical specifications.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Actively enrolled in an accredited B.Tech/M.Tech program during the internship.
  • Majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technology, or related quantitative domains.
  • Programming: Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
  • Database: Solid understanding of relational database concepts and relational SQL syntax.
  • Bonus Skills: Hands-on experience with Snowflake (SnowSQL) or statistical platforms like R.
  • DevOps: Preliminary understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication, and an experimental mindset.
