Key Responsibilities

  • As a Software QA Engineer at First Advantage, you will join the global engineering group to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise-grade verification software platforms. You will collaborate across engineering, product management, and release operations in a fully remote setup.
  • Test Case Execution & Design: Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end user workflows.
  • Defect Tracking: Identify, log, prioritize, and verify software bugs using industry-standard issue management systems like JIRA.
  • API & Backend Validation: Validate RESTful APIs and microservices using tools like Postman, Bruno, or automated testing frameworks.
  • Automation Integration: Write and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Python/Java testing frameworks.
  • Database Verification: Write SQL queries to perform database validation, data integrity checks, and test data setup across relational databases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers within Agile/Scrum development sprints.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related quantitative disciplines (B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc / BCA / MCA).
  • QA Methodologies: Strong grasp of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile principles, and bug lifecycle.
  • Automation & Scripting: Hands-on experience or working familiarity with test automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • API & Database Testing: Practical exposure to REST API testing (Postman) and database querying using SQL.
  • Remote Competency: Self-driven problem solver with strong time-management, remote collaboration, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
