Job Description

This is a core Software Engineering role centered heavily on test automation infrastructure. It demands deep quality engineering expertise combined with software craftsmanship. You will architect and implement scalable testing systems that abstract complex test logic into composable, reusable workflows using intelligent AI agents.
You will write prompt libraries, orchestrate LLM workflows, and build observability tools to debug AI-driven test execution. Your ultimate goal will be to enable Eightfold’s development teams to validate complex enterprise-grade products with unmatched speed and reliability.

AI-Driven Architecture: Design and implement scalable testing frameworks utilizing AI agents for high-fidelity, enterprise-grade product testing.
Prompt Engineering: Author, evolve, and version-control prompt libraries that encode testing best practices (authentication, data validation, multi-tenant workflows).
Agent Orchestration: Develop infrastructure for orchestrating AI agents, managing test states, parallelizing scenarios, and ensuring seamless failure recovery.
Quality Validation: Design end-to-end test workflows for complex enterprise features, including integrations and role-based access controls.
Observability & Debugging: Build observability tools (logging, tracing) for transparent AI-driven test execution and precise root-cause analysis.
Platform Evaluation: Create evaluation harnesses to measure prompt consistency, defect detection rates, and overall agent reliability metrics.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience designing and building test automation frameworks and production automation infrastructure.
Core Languages: High proficiency in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript (preferred) within test automation ecosystems.
Testing Fundamentals: Deep understanding of boundary analysis, equivalence classes, and DOM interactions (selectors, state management, race conditions).
Preferred Tools: Hands-on experience with Playwright (strongly preferred) or Selenium.
AI & DevOps (Bonus): Familiarity with LLM-driven workflows (LangChain, Anthropic SDK), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise platforms (Salesforce, SAP, Workday).
