Job Description

As an Applications Development Programmer Analyst at Citi, you will serve in an intermediate-level position responsible for the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems. Coordinating closely with the core Technology team, your overall objective will be to contribute deeply to applications systems analysis and backend programming activities.
You will utilize your knowledge of application development concepts to identify system enhancements, write basic code to design specifications, and conduct rigorous debugging. You will also develop a robust working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, database administration, and client-server networks, all while ensuring compliance with global financial regulations.

System Enhancements: Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures to identify and define necessary backend system enhancements.
Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot complex system issues, making evaluative judgments to implement effective solutions.
Code & Debugging: Write functional backend code, conduct rigorous testing and debugging, and utilize scripting tools for design specifications.
Risk Management: Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations to safeguard Citigroup and its clients.
Continuous Learning: Develop a deep working knowledge of Citi’s procedures, network operations, database administration, and data center ecosystems.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, University degree, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant industry experience. Freshers with strong academic programming backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills: Practical experience in programming and debugging used in business applications. Working knowledge of backend programming languages (primarily Java).
Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of modern software industry practices, standards, and comprehensive knowledge of specific business areas for application development.
Soft Skills: Consistently demonstrates clear, concise written and verbal communication, alongside sound ethical judgment regarding business practices.
