Job Description

  • As a Java Backend Engineer at Tarento, you will be part of a team dedicated to designing and developing robust server-side applications. Under the mentorship of senior developers, you will write clean, efficient, and well-documented Java code. Your role involves building and consuming RESTful APIs that power enterprise-level platforms. You will also work closely with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval processes.
  • You will play a vital role in the entire development lifecycle, from participating in code reviews to debugging and troubleshooting application issues. Collaborating with cross-functional teams like QA and DevOps, you will assist in unit testing and ensure that all code meets Tarento’s high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot .
  • Write clean, documented, and production-grade code.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
  • Participate in team discussions and peer code reviews to improve quality.
  • Debug technical issues and troubleshoot backend workflows.
  • Manage data persistence using SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Support unit testing and QA cycles to ensure software reliability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams for smooth deployment cycles.
  • Stay updated with modern Java frameworks and industry best practices.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
  • Java: Strong foundational knowledge of Core Java and OOPs concepts.
  • Foundations: Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
  • Databases: Familiarity with SQL and relational database management.
  • Web Services: Basic understanding of REST APIs and web architecture.
  • Tools: Knowledge of version control systems like Git .
  • Projects: Prior internship or academic project experience in Java development.
  • Nice to Have: Exposure to Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle , or JavaScript.
