Key Responsibilities

  • As a Graduate Engineer Trainee in Industrial Engineering at ACG, you will sit at the intersection of product design and live production operations. Your primary objective will be partnering with the New Product Development (NPD) division to ensure the seamless execution of NPD prototype projects in accordance with the master New Product Launch Plan. You will collaborate cross-functionally with application engineering, procurement, external suppliers, and manufacturing units to achieve Right First Time (RFT) and First Time Right (FTR) benchmarks across all component lines.
  • Your technical responsibilities will involve conducting meticulous Design Reviews to catch potential manufacturing bottlenecks before drawings are approved for fabrication or machining. You will perform risk assessments during initial design phases, design layouts for jigs and fixtures, establish routing sheets, and generate actionable cost-saving ideas. Trainees will also participate in the enterprise-level implementation of Siemens Teamcenter PLM within Manufacturing Engineering, execute time and method studies to optimize cycle times, and build Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to foster a culture of Continual Improvement.
  • Support NPD teams in executing prototype builds as scheduled in the product launch timeline.
  • Conduct structural Design Reviews to identify manufacturing anomalies and initiate technical updates with Engineering.
  • Perform formal risk assessments during the design phase to minimize production scrap losses and defects.
  • Formulate Make-and-Buy strategic proposals based on component criticality to optimize line efficiency.
  • Build comprehensive manufacturing process designs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machined parts.
  • Execute time measurements, work samplings, and method studies to isolate optimization areas.
  • Assist in the deployment and data migration of Teamcenter PLM tools inside the Manufacturing Engineering cell.
  • Develop layout concepts and design parameters for custom production Jigs and Fixtures.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on floor issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Provide direct technical support to assembly operators and external vendors during parts development.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: Freshers with a solid grasp of manufacturing systems, machining physics, and processing rules.
  • Software Exposure: Preliminary familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software like Siemens Teamcenter or standard 3D CAD modeling software is a strong advantage.
  • Foundations: Clear understanding of work measurement studies (Most/Stopwatch methods), routing concepts, and cost estimation basics.
  • Analysis: Strong problem-solving capabilities, technical orientation, and attention to detail.
  • Soft Skills: Proactive team player, good interpersonal communication, and a strong drive to implement cost-optimization models without degrading quality.
