Job Description

  • As a Graduate Engineer Trainee (acting as a Production Controller ), you will be the backbone of the manufacturing floor. Your primary responsibility is to generate a Master Production Schedule (MPS) that balances customer demand with available plant capacity. You will ensure the timely release of job cards and manage material shortages to ensure a “Clear to Build” status for the production lines.
  • This role requires a blend of analytical thinking and strong communication. You will handle customer commits, ensuring that key performance indicators (KPIs) are met while proactively highlighting risks to avoid escalations. You will collaborate daily with Flow Leaders and Production Line Managers to drive on-time starts and completions, making sure that resources are appropriately allocated to meet GE Healthcare’s rigorous quality and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Manage material shortages to maximize “clear to build” and on-time finishes.
  • Partner with the manufacturing team on materials replenishment planning (MRP).
  • Collaborate with Operations to provide output commits and track adherence to plans.
  • Identify root causes for plan deviations and implement problem-solving strategies.
  • Maintain accuracy in customer delivery commitments and KPI tracking.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Utilize MS Excel and MRP systems to manage complex data and inventory flows.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc preferred).
  • Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel is mandatory; knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is a plus.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills to handle customer interactions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and matrix-influencing abilities.
  • Mindset: Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to perform effectively in pressurized situations.
  • Aptitude: Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on root-cause analysis.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight schedules.
