Key Responsibilities

  • As a Core Java Software Engineer at Zensar, your operational roadmap will consist of several core engineering milestones:
  • Backend Application Development: Designing, writing, enhancing, and maintaining clean, well-optimized, and testable backend services using Core Java.
  • Incident Analysis & Debugging: Troubleshooting running backend application anomalies by auditing system logs, evaluating SQL query results, and executing command-line diagnostics in Linux environments.
  • Order Management Customizations: Fixing complex software bugs and implementing functional modifications in transactional OMS structures under senior developer mentorship.
  • Code Quality Control: Participating in active team code reviews, writing programmatic unit tests, and adhering to strict secure-coding standards.
  • Production Support Support: Performing root-cause analysis (RCA) on reported critical production errors to stabilize business workflows.
  • Technical Documentation: Drafting comprehensive troubleshooting guides, incident logs, system configuration parameters, and API integration paths.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Zensar is assessing engineering candidates who possess strong analytical foundations and hands-on backend development skills:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Core Java: Exceptional conceptual grasp of Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design patterns. Must have practical experience with the Java Collections Framework, Exception Handling, and Multithreading fundamentals.
  • Database & SQL: Strong relational database (RDBMS) concepts. Ability to write, debug, and optimize intermediate-level SQL queries , with a solid understanding of joins, indexes, constraints, and stored procedures.
  • OS Environment: Working knowledge of **UNIX/Linux environments**, standard commands, and directory navigation. Basic shell scripting skills are considered a major plus.
  • Analytical Approach: Sharp troubleshooting capabilities to independently isolate application issues using server logs, database tables, and command-line diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets, electronic trading systems, or Order Management Systems (OMS).
  • Exposure to middleware or messaging systems, including **JMS or ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ**.
  • Basic comprehension of the **FIX (Financial Information eXchange) Protocol**.
  • Experience with modern build tools and version control engines (such as **Git, Maven, or Gradle**).
  • Understanding of continuous integration channels like **Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or standard CI/CD pipelines**.
