Job Description

  • As a Junior Backend Engineer at SixSense, you will bridge the gap between core product engineering and high-value global enterprise clients. You will serve as a premier point of contact for complex production issues, including platform downtime, backend operational interruptions, and deep-seated software bugs. This hands-on engineering role requires you to deep-dive into application logs, monitor microservices health, and use advanced debugging tools to isolate root causes and write clean patches or custom features under corporate SLAs.
  • You will work alongside core R&D and product management groups to suggest systemic stability upgrades and build automated scripting tools to expedite issue resolutions. Using containerized Linux environments running Docker , you will manage backend architectures engineered with Python and PostgreSQL . Over time, you will implement observability frameworks using tools like Django, Signoz, or OpenTelemetry , documenting common system issues and troubleshooting runs to ensure seamless performance for fabs operating across the US, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve runtime platform bottlenecks, data interruptions, and code bugs.
  • Develop and test custom server-side requirements and logic extensions for enterprise customers.
  • Analyze distributed application logs and monitor cloud infrastructure health using system debugging tools.
  • Write automation or maintenance scripts to accelerate runtime incident resolution cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product and core engineering teams to roll out critical software patches.
  • Enforce global standards for security permissions, maintaining response timelines within strict SLA limits.
  • Draft comprehensive troubleshooting playbooks, internal SOPs, and technical knowledge-base items.
  • Provide transparent, clear, and logical updates regarding technical resolutions directly to global stakeholders.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in backend software engineering or enterprise L3 technical support.
  • Backend Programming: Practical development proficiency using Python (knowledge of Django is a major plus).
  • Databases: Solid working familiarity with relational management systems, specifically PostgreSQL .
  • DevOps Stack: Comfort navigating Linux CLI structures and managing containerized apps via Docker .
  • Observability (Nice to Have): Exposure to modern tracking pipelines like Signoz, OpenTelemetry , or Prometheus.
  • Communication: Outstanding professional verbal and written English communication skills for customer interaction.
